Pale, limpid gold colour with green glints. The nose is very inviting, offering an array of ripe white tree fruit and floral/honeysuckle aromas, with subtle hints of mandarine orange and garrigue herbs. The palate also has fruit in abundance, with flavours of dessert apples, peach, canteloupe melon and soft citrus. The texture is gently creamy/oily, whilst a hint of grape skin tannin and ample acidity keeps everything in balance, with a hint of peppery spice and orange zest on the finish. A wine that is at the same time soft, yet finely structured. If ever you wanted an example of why the nervy, aromatic Viognier and oily, honeyed Roussanne varieties make perfect bed fellows, then this is it. A really lovely wine! |
