Drink Now, or to 2023

A bright, clear purple/magenta colour with a light ruby rim. This is a Madiran which (amazingly) says "drink me now!" The nose offers copious aromas of blackcurrant, black cherry, new leather and damp earth, with subtle herb and peppery spice notes. The palate is *relatively* (for Madiran) light, airy and fresh, encompassing flavours of black cherry, citrus and redcurrant, with hints of Asian spice and bitter chocolate. The gently rustic tannins offer plenty of grip, whilst juicy, rhubarb-infused acidity offers balance. For a wine so young, this is a really juicy, tangy and approachable style of Madiran, and is great now - obviously with food - or over the next 5 to 8 years.
