We used to import from Sainte Rose, before they were discovered by some of the bigger merchants and multiples. So although they no longer form part of our core list, picking some of these up on the secondary market was to hard to resist - after all, they are still lovely wines! As with its white sibling, this 2016 red shows little sign of age, due to the screw cap closure. A bright, limpid, medium ruby red colour. Aromas of summer fruits leap from the glass, with subtle notes of pepper, spice and garrigue herbs. The palate is also beautifully fresh and bursting with life, offering flavours of bramble, cherry and redcurrant, again with hints of pepper and spice, gently rustic but ripe tannins and plenty of juicy acidity, making for a delightfully sweet-sour wine, with a lingering finish. Summer in a glass! .
