Domaine Treloar La Terre Promise 2019 Côtes Catalanes

A bright, limpid medium gold colour, with orange glints. Aromas of peach, mandarin orange, apple pie, freshly baked brioche and wet stone, with subtle floral, cardamom, thyme and oaky notes lurking in the background. There is a lot going on in this wine, with a welcome return to the richer style of some earlier vintages - an abundance of spiced apple and raisin pie, peach and soft citrus flavours and a rich, oily/honeyed/leesy texture that coats the mouth, followed by a gentle bite of tannin, ample acidity and a long, spicy/herby finish. As always with this cuvée, It is deliciously drinkable now, but has the structure to age for a good few years yet. And although it is undoubtedly a food wine, it is equally good on its own, as an (albeit hedonistic) aperitif. A wine to sit and enjoy, whilst contemplating the meaning of life!
