A blend of Muscat and Sauvignon, which exhibits the classic traits of each variety - grapey, orangey and zesty, courtesy of the Muscat and grassy/nettley and herbaceous, courtesy of the Sauvignon. Not that either variety dominates - indeed, this rather unusual combination is a bit of a master stroke. On the palate, there's initially a gentle spritz, which gives the wine real definition and focus, with truly mouth-watering white tree fruit flavours and soft citrus acidity and a long, cool, minty finish. This really is a brilliant summer white wine, perfect as an aperitif or perhaps with light fish dishes, shellfish, white meats and cold cuts. Gold medal, Paris 2020. |
