A bright, clear, pale straw colour. The nose offers orange and lime oil aromas, with myriad floral and herbal notes, as well as a definite whiff of wet stone minerality. Super fresh in the mouth, yet at the same time really quite complex. Clairette isn't a typically fruity variety, but this one exhibits plenty of orange and peach flavour, to complement the more typical herby/leafy elements. And though essentially bone dry, there's more than enough fruit to go around, together with a gentle creaminess and saline minerality. All of which combine in a beautifully rounded, balanced wine, with ample acidity and a long, tangy/zesty finish. |
