A limpid pale/medium gold hue, leading to a very pale rim. With a heady mix of peach and apricot, pink grapefruit, mandarin and apple (it's all in there!) with background notes of oregano, mint, nettles and honeysuckle, this really is a very alluring wine. And the palate certainly lives up to the promise of the bouquet, offering up a complex mélange of white fruit flavours, citrus, mixed herbs and hints of star anise and spice, all tightly-knit and wrapped around a core of mouth-watering acidity. The finish is gently herby/spicy and very long. Viognier can sometimes be a bit showy and flowery, but 10% each of Grenache Blanc and Muscat add immensely to the whole - the former for a bit of herb and spice and "non-fruit" quality, and the latter for a come-hither grapiness and zest. And it all adds up to a seriously delicious and more-ish wine, to enjoy as an aperitif or with food. An absolute cracker.
